Round 3 Grants focus on assisting not-for-profits, small to medium-sized businesses, and local government authorities in installing up to four EV chargers per location, with power capacities ranging from 7kW to 350kW. Each applicant can apply for grants for up to five sites.
The WA Charge-up Grant comes with a substantial fund of $15 million, which is thoughtfully allocated to cater to the unique needs of SMEs and LGAs.
- $10 Million for SMEs: Small and medium businesses, defined as those with fewer than 200 employees, have the opportunity to tap into a significant portion of the grant. This allocation is set to empower businesses in Western Australia to embrace EV charging solutions.

WHO CAN BENEFIT

- All not-for-profits registered with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC)
- All local government authorities established under the Local Government Act 1995.

- medium businesses employing between 20 and 199 people.
WHAT THE GRANT COVERS
The WA Charge up Workplace Grant offers substantial financial support to facilitate the installation of EV charging infrastructure. Here’s a detailed breakdown of the grant coverage:
- Charger Costs: Up to 50% of the cost for up to 4 chargers – Chargers can be 7kW to 350kW in size and must be selected from the approved list. (maximum of 5 sites can be funded per applicant)
- Installation Costs: Up to 50% of the installation, capped at:
- Less than 150kW – $5,000 per site in the Greater Perth Area; $10,000 per site in regional and remote areas.
- Bigger than 150kW – $10,000 per site in the Greater Perth Area; $20,000 per site in regional and remote areas.
- Electrical Network Costs: Up to 50% of costs associated with installation, capped at
- $150,000 per site for sites under Western Power
- $225,000 per site for sites under Horizon Power
- Software Costs: Up to 50% of costs for 2 years
- Software must be on the approved list
